Goals*

April Ambrose - To develop and operate an environmental consulting business and to receive my first client.

Jessica Austin - To involve major businesses in a city-wide campaign called THE HUSH PROJECT to help the Community Rescue Mission of Fort Smith with a rotating sponsorship program through volunteers and in-kind donations.

Robert Boxley - To run for the Marked Tree school board by September, 2007.

Lois Boyd - To work with the Juvenile Judge in Lee County to implement a program to enforce community service sentencing for youth.

Lacy Bradford - To get a drug court in Van Buren County.

Kathy Carter - To establish a literacy and cultural center for the Arkadelphia community focused on the international population.

Don Crabbe - To participate in the National Child Identification Program by raising enough money to provide an ID kit to every kindergarten student (approximately 900 students) in Cabot. Completion by the spring of 2008. 

Edet Frank - Educate community based organizations how EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) and tax refunds can improve the overall economic health of every community.

Arlene Freeman - 1) To develop a job placement program through the Family Resource Center with local agencies and businesses for former criminal offenders in St. Francis County that will aid in their rehabilitation and give them hope for their future. 2) To reopen the Forrest City Southside swimming pool.

Karen Garcia - To seek funding for a project to produce and air a documentary film about the beginning of 4-H by working with interested 4-H Club members to be ready for its centennial that begins in October 2007. 

John Hoefl - To develop an Audubon bird watching station on Hot Springs Creek for children of all abilities built by students by May 15, 2008.

Brenda Hogg - 1) To increase public awareness of local home based and/or small businesses by creating a database and resource guide and developing an annual celebration to highlight these businesses. 2) To renovate Feaster Park in Arkadelphia by increasing the playground area, securing funding for a foot bridge between the park and the recreation center, and adding playground equipment .

Pat Johnson - To start a literacy program for children in Marianna and/or Lee County.

Michelle Kitchens - To develop a pilot program in local affairs for Arkansas Farm Bureau members to encourage and guide them in county and local involvement.  

Barbara Mathes - 1) To extend water service to the rural areas west of Mayflower. 2) To have a sign placed on Interstate 40 indicating that the Mayflower Exit #135 is the Lake Conway access.

David Nelson - To run for Justice of the Peace in Columbia County.

Ron Rainey - To establish a foundation in honor of my parents (Carl and Icy Rainey) to award scholarships to deserving African American youth from Arkansas (initially from my home community or Conway County) to any school in Arkansas.

Judy Ramer - Run for the state President position of the Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women. Election day is May 17, 2008.

Teddy Reynolds - Create an association dedicated to representing the interest, networking and education of forest landowners. The organization will be called the "Arkansas Landowners Association" and will be a non-profit 501c6 with the executive committee elected by its membership.

John Rima - To develop a horticulture tourism program with an educational emphasis, possibly partnering with Garvin Woodland Gardens, National Park Community College, City of Hot Springs Parks and Recreation and Winrock at Petit Jean.

Dan Schwieder - To become a board member of the local chapter of an environmental organization by the time I graduate LeadAR.

Jonie Standlee - To develop an education foundation for the Green Forest Public Schools.

Mary Jo Tucker - To plant trees and other useful plants at Memorial Park in Dumas to replace those destroyed by the tornadoes.

Jill Warren - To create an oral history for the town of Fulton and possibly create overlay maps to show the changes from its heyday to the present. This could be used in the local schools, at Old Washington, at the Economic Development offices, at the Chamber, or on the local morning radio talk show.
