Barbara Mathes
Mayflower - Faulkner County

Barbara is the public works director, city recorder, and office manager for the City of Mayflower. She deals with issues that concern buildings, plumbing, licenses and permits and is the custodian of the city’s official records. She is also an elected member of the Faulkner County Quorum Court. Barabara was raised on a farm in Van Buren County.

She has taken coursework at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is a graduate of the Faulkner County Leadership Institute. She was instrumental in raising funds to create a new hand-carved welcome sign for the city. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission in 2002.

Barbara believes that a leader must be honest, dependable, and determined to accomplish their goals.
