LeadAR - How to Apply
Applications

Applications for the LeadAR program can be submitted in the spring of even numbered years. Persons wishing to apply before the application process opens may send their name and address to the LeadAR office (P.O. Box 391, Little Rock, AR 72203) to be added to a new applicant pending file or fill out the on-line form. When the process officially begins, persons listed in this file will be notified with application information.

Recruitment of applicants occurs year round. LeadAR alumni, Extension faculty, LeadAR Advisory Council members, selected corporate sponsor contacts, and people on the pending list are sent application packets in late spring of even numbered years. The packet includes a program brochure(s), a list of selection criteria, and one or more pre-application forms. A web link is included for those who prefer to apply Online. At that time, Online application form links will be activated.

The deadline for receipt of pre-applications is usually set around the first week in July. As pre-applications are received, additional application forms are sent to pre-applicants or activated online with a return deadline of mid-September. These include a more in- depth application form, an employer commitment form, a supporting application by spouse (if applicable), a military commitment form (if applicable), and recommendation forms to be completed by two business and two personal references.

After all application materials are received, interview dates are set (usually in October and November) to complete the process. Should a very large number of pre-applications be received (which is extremely rare) a first-cut selection process would be conducted to reduce the applicant list to a manageable number.
