Class 9 (1999-2001)

LeadAR helped me find my, "tribe." LeadAR put me in touch with a network of people from all over Arkansas that had similar aims and goals. People who believe things can and should be better; people who are not afraid to go tilting at windmills.

Hardy Peacock
Class 9 - Dumas
President, P & W Oil Company

My LeadAR experience was the pivotal point in my personal and professional life.  Through friendships, networking, knowledge, and experiences gained during my two-year commitment, I developed the confidence and skills to step outside the box.  I now have a very challenging and rewarding career that touches communities throughout the state of Arkansas.

Denisa Pennington
Class 9
Director Community Development
Arkansas Economic Development Commission

I tell my friends that LeadAR was the best gift that I ever gave myself! Before going through the LeadAR program, I was always the "behind-the-scenes" person. I other words, I didn't mind working, but I would never be the person who had to speak in front of a group of people. Thanks to LeadAR and the extemporaneous speaking emphases, I gained a lot of self-confidence, which has enabled me to speak before groups with relative ease. It was this newly-found confidence that empowered me to ask for contributions to fund three LeadAR Seminars in Dumas!

Yes, I would certainly say going through the LeadAR program has had a huge impact on my life.

Peggy Chapman
Class 9 - Dumas
Secretary, First Baptist Church
Community leader

I have always had a very strong work ethic and desire to accomplish my goals. LeadAR has had a direct impact on my life by giving me the confidence to step into leadership roles and to bring my strongest traits to the table. I personally approach any situation or committee assignment with a desire to lead. It has taken several years for the skills LeadAR taught me to develop. Ultimately, LeadAR has helped me focus my ability to organize and delegate tasks. I now understand that it’s the individuals serving with me on a committee who do the work. When they succeed, we all accomplish together, whether it’s volunteers from my community or my co-workers at the Arkansas Farm Bureau. It’s not about ego, it’s not about individual personalities, it’s about accomplishing a goal as a team and growing together. Thank you LeadAR,

Jody L. Urquhart
