Cost and Program SupportLeadAR

Each participant must contribute:

  • A tuition fee of $2,500 (subject to change without notice)

  • Approximately 63 days of his/her time over the two-year period

The LeadAR Program will meet virtually all other seminar and travel costs which totals approximately $14,000 per person. Primary funding for the major program costs is provided by the University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service. Significant contributions to the program are made by the agriculture and corporate sector and alumni of the program. LeadAR would not have been possible without initial startup funding provided by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation.

Costs not paid for by the program

Meals

At most seminars a dinner meal will be at the participants’ cost. This allows the participant to eat at a place of their choice and with whom they choose and saves program costs.

Mileage

It is the participants’ responsibility to get to and from the seminar locations and the Little Rock National Airport for the tours. The program does not reimburse for mileage or other travel expenses such as parking fees. To save on these travel costs, participants can carpool with classmates in their area of the state or with those who live along the way to the seminars.

National and International Study Tour Costs

Participants will have designated free time (perhaps up to two full days) on these trips to rest, see the sights, etc. Any meals or transportation costs during this free time are at their expense.

The program cannot pay for additional luggage or clothing that may be needed for either of these trips. The program will, however, cover the cost for the first piece of checked luggage where the airline is CHARGING for the first piece. Costs for additional checked items is the participants’ responsibility. We also cannot pay for passports, evacuation insurance, or any immunizations or prescription medicine for the international trip.

LeadAR Logo Items

The program will offer items to purchase that have the LeadAR and University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture logos. Participants are not required to purchase any of these. We sell them at our cost and make no profit. We do recommend that participants purchase at least one LeadAR t-shirt for a class photo at one of the seminars.
